Jesus tells us that love of God and love of neighbor are at the heart of what it means to be a Christian. As we seek to continually grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, here are some suggestions of things you can do to put Jesus’ words into action. We encourage you to pick 5 of the suggestions below and do them this week.
Do a Holy Hour (spend an hour with Jesus in the Adoration Chapel).
Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for those who have died. www.usccb.org/resources/how-pray-chaplet-divine-mercy
Pray the Rosary for those who have fallen away from the faith.
Go to daily mass one day this week.
Read the Bible for 5 minutes each day.
Do a Morning Offering – before you get out of bed, pray “Good morning Jesus, thank you for this day, help me to love and serve you today.”
Call or FaceTime someone you haven’t talked to in a while.
Send a letter to someone who might be alone or isolated.
Go through your closet and find clothes to donate to St. Vincent de Paul. www.stvincentdepaul.net/thrift-stores/mesa-thrift-store
Purchase items to donate to Paz de Cristo (items can be dropped off at the Paz closet in the Church, downstairs near the kitchen).
Purchase a few gift cards to have on hand to hand out to people asking for help.
Look for ways to engage is acts of service for others (family, neighbors, etc).
Make an effort to encourage or compliment someone this week.
Pray for someone who has hurt you.
Read the readings for Mass this coming Sunday.
Consider how you might increase your weekly tithe.

Pick a day to fast this week (and pray for those experiencing hunger throughout the world).
Visit the websites for Catholic Charities AZ (www.catholiccharitiesaz.org) and Catholic Relief Services (www.crs.org) to learn about their work and how you might support them and/or get involved.
