OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (formally RCIA - same process, new name) will prepare you for full initiation into the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. A restoration of the Church's ancient practice of preparation, OCIA is a journey of faith with Christ into His Church. Through community, education, and prayer, OCIA provides both the time and space for you to develop a life giving relationship with Jesus, learn what it means to live as his disciple, and prepare to experience the gift of God's grace that is given to us in the sacraments.
Here at St. Timothy's we have 2 OCIA programs designed to help prepare you for these sacraments: an Adult track and a Youth/Family track. If you are already Catholic and just need the sacrament of Confirmation, you can find information about that program here.
They asked Peter and the other apostles, "What are we to do, my brothers?" Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit." (Acts 2:37-38).
OCIA - Adult track
The ADULT track of OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) offers inquiring adults the time and environment to be formed in the teachings and practices of Catholicism, and so prepare them for full communion with the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
OCIA -Youth track
OCIA for CHILDREN offers youth (grades 4-12) the time and environment to be formed in the teachings and practices of Catholicism, and so prepare them for full communion with the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Confirmation
Information for those in need of the Sacrament of Confirmation (for Adults and Children/Teens 6th grade through high school).

We have two OCIA programs here at St. Timothy’s, an adult program and a family program. These programs prepare adults, children, and teens to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion at the Easter Vigil. These new and returning Catholics need your support throughout the OCIA process. Here are three ways you can help.
In OCIA, we provide participants with a number of resources (Bible, Catechism, etc.) which cost about $75 per person. We ask that you financially support a Candidate and Catechumen by equipping them with important resources to grow in faith and discipleship. Click the link below to donate. Thank you for your generosity.
Each OCIA catechumen/candidate needs a sponsor for baptism and/or Confirmation. A sponsor is a practicing Catholic who can be an example and mentor for the candidate. The sponsor accompanies the candidate and stands witness to the candidates faith. Some candidates might find it difficult to find a sponsor, especially if they are new to the Catholic faith. We need practicing Catholics who are willing to be sponsors for those who need them. Fill out the appication in the link below.
Choosing to follow Christ and entering into his Church is never easy, for some it means losing family and friends, for all it is a major change of life. These candidates and Catechumens need your prayers and encouragement. You can pray for those in OCIA (see prayer below). There are also special rites and ceremonies for Candidates and Catechumens that take place at the 10am Mass starting in September. When you attend that mass, show your support.
Lord Jesus, you are the Good Shepherd who left the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep. You sent your Apostles out into the world to preach the good news to all nations, and since then, you have never ceased to call new people into your Church. We ask you to send your Holy Spirit upon those you are now calling to enter or return to your Church. Give them the courage to seek you Lord as you have first sought them. Give us all the courage to invite and encourage those in our lives who are in need of your grace and truth.
Purify and bless those Candidates and Catechumens who are currently in OCIA preparing to receive your blessed Sacraments this Easter. Grant them knowledge of the faith and let them grow in trust and love of you. Remove all obstacles in their path and fill them with the joy of your Resurrection. Reveal to them the tender love of the Father and patient intercession of your Blessed Mother. Help us to welcome them into the Christian community and be examples to them of faith, hope and love.
We ask this in your name Lord Jesus. Amen.
